Notes and tasks
Writing notes, turning them into tasks, assigning them, and working through the queue.
Writing a note
Open a customer, invoice or payment
Go to its page in the Stripe Dashboard and open Notetaskerator from the app drawer.
Write the note
Type what happened and choose Add note. The note is saved with your name and the time.
Make it a task, if it needs follow-up
Switch on This needs follow-up before saving. Choose a priority and, if you know who should handle it, an assignee.
A note you only want on record stays a plain note. You can turn it into a task later, and turn a task back into a plain note.
Tasks
A task is a note with three extra things:
| Choices | |
|---|---|
| Priority | Low, Normal, High, Urgent |
| Status | Open, In progress, Resolved |
| Assignee | A teammate, or nobody |
Anyone on the team can change any of them, on the page the note was written on or from the task queue.
Assigning a task
You can assign a task to anyone in your Stripe account who has opened the app at least once. Stripe does not tell apps who is on your team, so the app learns about a teammate the first time they open it.
Someone missing from the list?
Ask them to open Notetaskerator once, on any customer, invoice or payment page, or the task queue. They appear in the assignee list straight away.
When you assign a task to someone else, they get an email with the note, its priority and a link to the page it is on. Each person can switch these emails off with Email me when a task is assigned to me in the task queue.
The task queue
The app's full-page view lists the team's tasks. By default it shows what is open or in progress, most urgent first and then oldest first.
- Assigned to me shows your own tasks.
- Unassigned shows tasks nobody has picked up.
- Everyone shows the whole team's.
Choose a different status to see resolved tasks. Select a task to read the full note, change it, or jump to the customer, invoice or payment it is about.
A customer's page shows everything
A note on an invoice or a payment also appears on the page of the customer it belongs to, so support staff who start from the customer see the whole story in one place.
Editing and deleting
Everyone in your Stripe account can edit and delete every note. Deleting cannot be undone.
